Yatir Winery was founded in 2000 and is situated at Tel Arad, in the Northeastern Negev Desert. Tel Arad is a unique archaeological site with a history of over 3,000 years.
The vineyards are in Yatir Forest, the largest planted forest in Israel, which is a high altitude, cool climate area situated in the southern Judean Hills.
The winemaker Eran Goldwasser, graduated from Adelaide University and gained experience making wine in Coonawarra in South Australia and Western Australia, before joining Yatir Winery in 2000.
